A little peppery and lean, but time unleashes more heft, char and fruit than what’s initially evident. In the mouth, it’s full of plump berry and cherry notes, and maybe a touch of raisin (2003 was a hot year). Not the most agile, finesse-based red but still very good.

A little heavier than some, with aromas of green fruits and peach. The palate has a round but generally fresh feel, while the flavors of white grapefruit and peach are augmented by pickle and melon. Sturdy and “green” on the finish, and very much true to the blueprint for Verdejo and Rueda.
