Compared to the 2005 regular cuvée, this is riper and rounder, but it’s still not a particularly lush wine. Berry and cherry flavors are bolder and more intense, touched by vanilla and coffee from barrel aging.

Some postbottling sulfur should dissipate over the next several months, by which time this firmly structured, crisp wine should be slightly more approachable. Cherry flavors are clean and direct, but lack concentration and nuance.
