Big, sweet aromas define the nose of this wine, slightly overripe black cherry and black currant aromas, sweet and dense aromas, quite perfumed and aromatic; sweet and rich in the front of the mouth with an abundance of black fruits, tar, and earth; lots of terroir exhibited here, a bit coarse and clumsy, but flavorful; soft, sweet and spicy at the end, with a nicely-defined finish, if lacking in nuance.
