Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The BSH blend is two thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, the rest a mix of Bordeaux blend grapes. The Cab is definitely in the driver’s seat, pushing out flavors of cherry/berry and whiffs of straw and cooked plum. It’s consistent with the ripe, somewhat volatile house style, but offering smooth, well-integrated flavors and subtle use of new oak.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Though released early, and still showing some sweet, grapey scents, this is a very pretty wine reminiscent of a young Syrah. Berry, cherry and chocolate mingle with the fruit right out in front. It’s a quite drinkable, delicious, forward style.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This very young, grapey, yeasty wine is still pulling itself together, but shows very nice, sweet fruit, augmented with spice and a hint of mint. Light and supple, another few months in the bottle will certainly help.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The BSH blend is 70% Cab, 13% Cab Franc and 17% Merlot. Cherry fruit holds down the core here, with good concentration that is highlighted with one-third new French oak. High-toned notes in the nose, and a bit of wet dog in the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This vintage is vineyard designated (Sheridan Vineyard) and 80% merlot; the rest cabernet sauvignon. A ripe, plumy wine, showing a lifted nose bordering on volatility. Despite the pretty fruit, the finish is somewhat bitter, almost scorched.
