appearance: medium intensity, with a lemony color. nose: very pronounced, with armoas of gooseberry, freshly cut grass, honey, lemon, and white flowers. palate: off-dry, with average acidity and body, with flavors of straw, melon, hints of mango, and peaches for days. the length is average as well. overall: a very crisp chardonnay. excellent nose, very aromatic, and complex. nice acidity as well, and the body is decent with a nice finish. this reminds me very much of their sauvignon blanc, although i think the s.b. is a bit better with more acidity and a bigger attack. still a good wine. i give it an 87.

appearance: low intensity with a lemony-gold color nose: clean with a very pronounced nose, and aromas of gooseberry, freshly cut grass, honey, lemon, and white flowers palate: off-dry, with average acidity, low tannin, and an above-average body and length. it contains aromas of straw, melon, a hint of mango, and peaches for days. overall: a very crisp chardonnay. excellent nose, very aromatic and complex. nice acidity as well, along with a decent finish. this reminds me very much of their sauvignon blanc, though i think the s.b. is a bit better with more acidity and a bigger attack. it's still a very good wine. i give it an 88.

appearance: clear and very deep, with a strong ruby color. nose: average nose, with aromas of port, red twizzlers, raisins, and white pepper. palate: on the dryer side, with low acid and tannins. the body is very high, with flavors of port, black liqorice, and hints of caramel and clove. the length is below average. overall: *i had this wine after sitting out for a week, and it changed dramatically from when i first opened it, so this taste is based on that sitting. it's a very different kind of taste. the port-like flavor is undeniable. the body is high, the length is weak though. the problem with this wine is that it's too one-dimensional, and i actually see that strong dimension overtaking all food with it. even drinking on its own is not so great. i give it an 85.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A step up in quality from the 2004, and a step down in price make this Pinot a hit any way you slice it. Black cherry and plum fruit is balanced by hints of menthol and vanilla from oak. It’s on the full-bodied, muscular side and admittedly a bit chunky, but does show fine dusty tannins and decent length on the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Solid, mainstream Marlborough Sauvignon at an attractive price, the 2005 Oyster Bay offers tropical notes on the nose, then turns more citrusy on the palate as peach and melon notes give way to lime and mineral. Imported by Lauber Imports.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Smells of powerful stone fruits such as nectarines and plums. Leaves a sweet, fruit-cocktail-like impression on the palate, but finishes clean and citrusy. A bit simple, but it makes for a satisfying, flavorful mouthful of wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Oyster Bay is better known for its Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, but this Chardonnay is one of its top drops. It’s medium in body, with hints of buttered nuts and custardy richness in place of primary fruit, yet ending with a clean, citrusy finish. Drink now

Oyster Bay has turned a nicely supple, easy-drinking 2009 Pinot Noir at a realistic price. Toast and vanilla notes accent strawberry fruit, finshing clean and fresh. Drink now.

This medium-bodied Chardonnay features plenty of tropical fruit flavors, but not much else except a distracting rubbery, tarry scent.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This successful brand is a huge seller in Australia, and the company reports that 200,000 cases of this vintage are available in the U.S. It’s a little less overt than many Marlborough Sauvignons, with restrained celery leaf and citrus aromas and flavors that finish with just a hint of sweetness. Drink now.
