Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Cherry and cassis aromas start out feisty but dull down with air, while the palate is smooth, lightly oaked and shows red berry, cherry and vanilla flavors. Calm and collected on the finish, with a competent but restrained overall approach.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Spicy, leafy and dry, with mild red berry aromas. The palate is much the same, with a fresh, acidic mouthfeel and solid, snappy flavors of leafy red berry fruit, pepper and dry spice. Simple but competent wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Vegetal is how I’d describe it, with strong aromas of tomato leaf, olive, briar and wet earth. The palate is snappy to the point of being sharp, and the flavors are rooty yet pointed, with notes of baked cherry and plum showing up. A very herbal, stripped-back type of wine.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Neutral and waxy smelling, bordering on mute and quiet. But the palate has a nice citric zing to it along with flavors of orange, lemon and nectarine. While it’s fairly monoline in its approach, the citric juiciness cleanses the palate and keeps things fresh.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Not an overweight wine, which is a good thing. The nose has dry, peppery, herbal aromas of dusty cherry and berry notes, while the palate has a medium body to it and flavors of peppery cherry/berry. Light, airy, dry and competent. Doesn’t push the envelope too hard.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Moderate red cherry aromas are about as expressive as it gets, while the palate has a sharp scour to it even if the wine avoids outright tartness. Snappy and crisp at all check points, with a spot of lean, buttery oak flavor on the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Apple and vanilla aromas are front and center on the mild, somewhat dilute bouquet, yet the palate feel is good and the flavors of pear and banana are mildly toasted and smooth. Likable yet simple Chardonnay. Drink upon purchase.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Slightly herbal, but not so much so that the bouquet is off or unappealing. Racy and a little rubbery on the palate, with generic but solid berry and herbal aromas. Long, herbal and only mildly scratchy on the finish. Standard Merlot from Chile.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Kind of brown, which makes sense seeing that it’s an older 2008 model. The nose shows sweet peach and mango aromas, and some oxidization. The palate is drying and short, with bitter-tinged peach and citrus flavors. Flat and dry on the finish.
