Roughly two-thirds Cab and one-third Merlot, this red wears a judicious amount of oak, and is drinking well now. At its core is black cherry and plum fruit. Its chalk-clay feel persists through the finish, as does a ribbon of fresh eucalyptus. It’s a solid, well-made wine. 3,500 cases produced.

Will appeal to fans of grassy, green New Zealand Sauvignons. This Western Australian version has intense grass and green pea aromas that are repeated, though with less pizazz, on the palate. Finishes flat. Imported by Palandri America.

It’s the anti-Australian Riesling, with a light, fresh feel, and ripe fruit flavors that verge on the tropical. Pineapple and mango are possibilities, as are other more common fruits: apples, pears, limes and peaches. A simple, fruity quaff that satisfies.
