Ripe and oaky, with smoky, caramelized flavors dominating the underlying currants and plums. Pretty tannic, too. Made from 100% Cabernet, the wine could surprise with time in the bottle.

Shows a fine, polished Napa style in the perfectly ripe blackberry and currant flavors, and in the way the sweet and ultrarefined tannins give the wine such classic structure. New oak adds just the right touch of smoke and vanilla to this ageworthy 100% Cab. Best after 2010.

Opens with a powerful and appealing scent of cherry and black currant fruit that’s dressed up with smoky oak. Impressive for its balance and elegance despite the ripe flavors, and accessible now for its gentle tannins. Will surely age well.

This is a generic but agreeable Cab. Its a little too soft and flaccid, with collapsed tannins, but the cherry and cassis flavors are ripe and attractive. Drink now.

Opens with a green, herbal smell that suggests mint, but fortunately it tastes better. Spicy blackberry, cherry and espresso flavors are wrapped in gently soft tannins. The underripe theme reprises on the finish, where it turns sharp.
