Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
In this price range, you’ll be hard pressed to find many better wines. It starts out with some malty aromas and a nice dose of violet-like flowers. In the mouth, vanilla sits underneath cassis, while on the finish, buttery oak does not seem out of place or overdone.

Flat, corn-like aromas kick it off, then deeper within there’s a hint of butterscotch. The palate is surprisingly lean, with apricot, apple and pineapple flavors.

Giant and grapy, with awkward flavors of sweet blueberries and resin. Strange as a whole, with hints of green bean and coffee. Imported by American Wine Distributors.

Flat as a board, with vanilla, custard and pear aromas. Nondescript white fruit carries everything to a sweet, bland finish. Mass market wine, no more no less.

Apple, pear and some mint on the nose stir interest, and the palate delivers more of the same. The orange flavors are tangy, while the finish is simple and direct. Imported by American Wine Distributors.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Jammy but dilute, with plum and red licorice flavors. A bit of caramel and toffee come on late, but that only works to create a thick, fudge-like mouthfeel.
