Estate-grown fruit is done here in a fresh, bright, citrusy style. Vivid and delicious, with snap and precision, this aromatic Pinot Noir has orange peel highlights and a pungent, tartly fruity palate. Food-friendly and nuanced, and a nice break from the jammy style.

The screwcap tells you that this is a wine for near-term, everyday enjoyment, and its unpretentious flavors will work in a variety of food settings. It’s a bit weedy, showing the more herbal/stemmy side of Oregon fruit, but there are also flavors of cola, wild berry and buttercream, this last softening the finish and cutting the acidity.

This is the first release from a new Oregon vintner. Appealing, open, fresh and fruity, it tags spicy cranberry and strawberry scents onto a well-made, soft and smooth Pinot. Supple tannins and just a hint of barrel toast complete the wine. —P.G.

So young the yeast still carries a slightly beery aroma, this grapy, light style has pretty, cherry candy fruit and some heat on the finish.
