Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Domaine de Thalabert is a historic name in Crozes-Hermitage, and the 2007 does its heritage proud, offering a dark look at Syrah through a lens of espresso, black olive and plummy fruit. It’s full bodied and built for several years in the cellar, yet turns velvety on the finish even today.

There’s a youthful and dominant smashed-berry element to the bouquet. A little bit of citrus rind and nutmeg add nuance to an otherwise full-blast and friendly southern Rhône quaffer. Has balance, style and a woody finish. Best Buy.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Not up to the level of Jaboulet’s Domaine de Thalabert bottling, the 2003 Les Jalets is nevertheless a very good wine, offering peppery, herbal and red-fruit aromas and flavors of tart cherries and green olives. Despite the red-green character of the fruit, the mouthfeel is smooth and slightly creamy. Turns crisp on the finish.

Jaboulet’s basic Crozes is a good value in ’07, offering complex aromas of smoke, plum, black olive, horse sweat and cracked pepper framed by slightly coarse tannins. Turns firm on the finish, yet remains mouthwatering. Drink now–2017.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Despite only 15% new oak, this wine comes across as toasty and caramelly, with delicate touches of pear, honey and wet stones. There's plenty of weight and length, so fans of oaked whites will find plenty to like.

Starts off scents with toasted hazelnut that give it an almost white Burgundy-like bouquet, then adds crisp, linear notes of citrus. Firmly structured and fresh, this is worth holding a few years to see how it develops.

Jaboulet’s white Hermitage is named after the crusading knight who built and settled in the small chapel on the Hermitage hill. The wine itself is powerful, rich and concentrated, with heady perfumes of wild flowers and nuts. The palate combines a hint of wood, a full-bodied, oily texture and a stunning burst of acidity that leaves a crisp aftertaste.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This estate, with its small production from low-yielding old vines, is Jaboulet’s latest pride. The white Crozes-Hermitage has great richness. There are aromas of honey from the ripe fruit, while the flavors mix exotic fruits and hints of mushrooms. Although it is rich, there is a firmer, more mineral streak, which adds to the complexity.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A rich, fat wine with concentrated ripe apricots and a touch of spice from the new wood used in its fermentation. It is weighty and full-bodied, but it also has a rich acidity that makes it refreshing by itself and with food.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A blend of Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Marsanne, this wine is flavored with new wood and ripe fruits. Apricots and spices give it a full character, with just enough acidity to make it refreshing.
