Open and pretty, with approachable aromas of pear, banana and ocean air. The palate is packed full of mango, peach and banana, while the finish is long and holds form. A hefty, forward real-deal of a white. Excellent with appetizers.

Napa brings classic elegance, Amador a lusty exuberance, to this very fine Zinfandel. The fruit is extraordinarily lush, with ripe blackberry jam, cherry pie filling, cassis-laced chocolate candies and peppery spices, and very little briar or bramble. This is great California Zinfandel.

Light lemon, honey and banana aromas are puffy and nice. Fresh as it should be, with mineral, lime and just ripening pineapple. Balance, properly acidic but not biting, and likable. Imported by Steve Miles Selections.

Light, simple and ready to drink. More acidic than some, with a cleansing, almost sour flavor package of green apple and lemon. Shows a lot of unabsorbed acidity on the finish, which forces the wine toward being crisp and minimalist. Drink now.

At once lively and round, this is a not-too-racy, not-too-mushy Albariño from northern Spain. Yellow stone fruit and citrus (especially lemon pith) vie for top billing on the palate. Good with white fish, or as an apÈritif. —D.M.

Clean and sweet, with an aromatic touch of cookies and cream. In the mouth, it’s more of the standard lemon, apple and mineral that you expect from this Galician white. Finishes easy and nice, but not too crisp.
