Berry fruit and underbrush on the nose, with some buttery oak standing out. Seems a bit sweet and pruny on the palate, with a ripe, medicinal finish. Not bad but also not in the top echelon of Rioja reservas. And 1997 was not a particularly good year. Imported by Haro Imports.
