Simple and dryish to off-dry, with raspberry and vanilla flavors and good acidity. This is a nice little blush wine and the price is fair for what you get.

Jammy and pumped to the brim with black-cherry fruit, it starts out kind of clunky but then straightens itself out. Fairly rich and fun to drink, it’s a little on the hefty side, but with personality. Plenty of sweet oak on the finish, perhaps too much.

Compared to a Napa Cab, this is a rustic, sharp-edged offering whose tannins have a jagged, green edge. But if you’re complaining that Napa Cabs don’t go with food, try this one. It’s drily acidic and savory, with herb and pepper-infused wild blackberry, cherry and chocolate flavors.

Brings a classic, Bordeaux-like control and polish to Zinfandel’s wild and woolly side. The flavors are briary and brambly, with wild berries, dusty spices, cherries and chili peppers, and the finish is dry and interesting. The spices suggest spicy foods.

Held back for four years, it cannot have been very tough even at release. Today, it’s really soft, with extremely ripe wild blueberry, boysenberry, loganberry and crab apple flavors that seem to have just been picked. Classic Sonoma Zin, for barbecued or braised beef.

The east side of the valley is the warm side, since it gets the afternoon sun, and this is certainly a ripe wine. It's huge in pineapple, fig, and melon flavors, and has a crisp edge of clean acidity. Finishes with a hint of sweetness.

Rosé doesn’t get more aromatic than this, which opens with a burst of ripe, freshly crushed red cherries. Those are the flavors, too, along with raspberries, root beer and vanilla. This is a refreshing blush, at a good everyday price.
