A silken, drinkable wine with a rich, satisfying intensity. Some character and tannins in the finish but just enough to add some complexity without astringency. Some earth and oak with just a little smoke, not much spice. Not an overly complex wine, but enough character to make it a delicious and more satisfying alternative to a thinner rhone wine or pinot noir, without the headache of a cabernet!
