Already shows some bricking at the rim, so best to drink this up in the next few months. Dried fruit notes are not unappealing and there are some pleasant meaty, soy-sauce elements as well.

Sweet tobacco, oak and spice on the nose show promise, and in the glass the sturdy tannins and tobacco flavors show that the winemakers meant business. The wine feels heavy and the parts somewhat disparate, though—it needs more balance and heft. Still, interesting flavors are part of the package.

A creamy, toasty nose is followed by crisp flavors of tropical fruit and apple. Friendly, but there’s a watery feel to the flavors, leaving the wine in need of additional dimension. That said, the finish has some depth and the flavors make for a refreshing warm weather sip.
