We went to Perry's Grille in Houston, which is one of the premier restaurants in the area. The wine list at Perry's is lauded by Wine Spectator as one of if not THE best list in the U.S., so I felt pretty confident in my choice of Perinn as a good wine to accompany our filet mignon. Earthy, some spice, plum, cassis, earth on the nose, smoooooooth tannins and medium body. Good finish, but the most important thing was my fellow dinner mates agreed that this Rhone blend went perfectly with the steaks. It was brilliant and I hated to finish the bottle. Highly recommended. $70 at the restaurant, so just cut that in half.
