Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Starts off a bit fat, with warm, baked-fruit flavors of apple-pear crisp and spice, but firms up nicely on the finish, folding in additional spice notes and a pleasant tang that keeps things lively.

Pronounced spice notes mark the nose of this lithe, aromatic wine. At only 11.1% alcohol, it shows no fat, just straightforward pineapple fruit and plenty of gingery-peppery spice. An off-dry finish and crisp acids make this a top choice to pair with Indian or Thai dishes.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Fans of this sometimes kinky grape variety will probably feel this rating is too low. This wine starts of with hints of Scheurebe’s wild side, offering up hints of something resembling Sauvignon Blanc, then adding almost tropical fruit and currant and pink grapefruit flavors tinged with just enough residual sugar for balance. A wild ride, but an enjoyable one.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Although this Riesling only features moderate minerality, it does show wonderfully perfumed and pure fruit to go with an electric balance of sweetness and acidity. It’s just off dry, with racy acids that keep the citrus flavors pumping through the long finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Full and soft for a Riesling, with appealing aromas of corn oil, ripe apples, pears and limes and flavors of minerals and spice. Attractive, but lacks a bit of vibrancy and zest on the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This wine shows tremendous minerality for a wine from a mix of parcels. Almost smoky, saline mineral aromas combine with crisp, citrusy fruit to typify the Pfalz dry Riesling style. Picks up hints of orange and clove on the finish, with a suggestion of citrus pith.
