Heavy, very ripe pineapple aromas and baked-apple flavors. It suffers a little in the mouthfeel category, as it seems slightly flat. But it comes on late, showing ample oak in the finish. Dense in the middle, it’s not unlike lemon poundcake.

Lighter than the '97, with pretty blackberry and black cherry aromas. Oak shadings add vanilla and smoke. The texture is supple, with flavors of berry and cherry, and it finishes nicely dry and spicy.

An interesting Cabernet that is softening and mellowing. The primary blackberry and cherry fruit is starting to dry out, revealing more subtle and harmonious notes. This dry, complex wine is best now and for a few more years.

Very unusual to get a newly released Cabernet from the 2004 vintage, especially one this good, at this price. At age six, it’s fully mellow, with a silky mouthfeel framing flavors of cherries and blackberries that are starting to dry out and sweeten. There are also developing notes of mushrooms and earth. What a bargain, but only 800 cases were produced.

Starts with refined aromas of smoke, toast, butter, spice and tropical fruits; also a nearly vegetal herbal overtone. The creamy texture and tropical fruit flavors are framed by heavy oak.

Here's a dark, young wine packed with fresh aromas of crushed blackberries and a layer of smoky oak. In the mouth, it's concentrated and dense, dry and balanced. A bit jammy now, it needs time to knit together.
