Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A powerful, impressive wine, which brings together very ripe fruit and fine juicy acidity and solid tannins. The fruit is concentrated, black plums and a herbal layer. The aftertaste has acidity, but also ripeness.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
As a contrast to the great fruity straight Touriga Nacional from the same producer, this is a much drier, firmer wine. The tannins are very dry, packed with wood flavors as well as berry fruits and layers of acidity. A wine for aging, this needs a good 5 years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A serious, impressive wine, packed with the dark tannins of Touriga Nacional. It also has an elegance that gives it shape, structure and surprising poise for such a rich, juicy wine. The fruit is ripe, flavored with dark berries, cranberry tannins and some wood spice. Age for 3–4 years.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A smooth, well-integrated wine, showing sweet fruits, flavors of stewed red plums, with bright acidity. The proportions are all there, a wine that has style and freshness, as well as just the right fruit density.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A full, weighty, fat wine, almost new world Chardonnay in its texture and richness. It does come back to its roots, though, with the fresh melon and pear flavors in front of a definite mineral background. A food white, for good fish dishes, perhaps with spice.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Two worlds? A blend of Touriga Nacional with Cabernet Sauvignon, creating a modern, polished style of wine in a traditional context. The wine is fresh, the bright acidity coming from the Cabernet, while the Touriga supplies the black fruits. After a somewhat lean texture, it bursts back with a juicy finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
“Tradicional” in this sense means made with a blend of Portuguese grapes—Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Tinta Roriz and Castelão. The style is firm and structured, certainly, with a red plum character. The final texture smooths out the tannins, leaving acidity and sweet juiciness.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Touriga Nacional, so called because producer Paulo Cunha and US importer Robert Kacher felt the Cabernet was new world in its contribution, while the Touriga was firmly in the old world. Very ripe and juicy, this wine is full of black fresh fruits, just underlined by a touch of dry tannin. There is an openness as well as a dry aftertaste.
