Always an interesting wine, the white Morey-St.-Denis is a rare and a novelty in most instances, but it does stand on its own; this wine opens with a powerful nose, a classic mix of sour cabbage and sweet fruit, honeyed and earthen, minerally, beeswax aromas; opens with a mélange of tropical fruits that is unusual, then settles into more honeyed fruit hemmed in by powerful, austere acids; deep flavors, but more powerful than elegant; impressive though in its forceful statement and good terroir. (16.5/20)

Sweet but fetid barnyard nose, classic aromas, more black cherry aromas later, smoky and earthen; light and elegant in the mouth, lots of black fruits in the body of this wine; soft tannins, great finish; this is a really polished wine. (19/20)
