Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Stalky and sweaty smelling, then creamy, cloying and sticky as a bee’s nest. Tastes like cotton candy and raspberry syrup mixed with vanilla and wood resin.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Coffee, wood grain and berry fruit combine to create a standard trio of aromas, while the palate is medium in weight, with strawberry, raspberry and vanilla flavors. This wine offers a reasonably good mouthfeel and finishing notes of coconut, dill and vanilla. Good but ordinary. Imported by Dana Importers, Inc.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
The delicate strawberry, vanilla and toast aromas open with additional air to show more black cherry and tobacco. A medium-weight blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Plum and dark berry aromas are offset by typical American oak aromas of pickle and dill. But the wine is generally ripe and whole, with blackberry flavors balanced by chocolate and black pepper on the finish. Medium to full in weight, with no noticeable holes in the fabric. At 83,000 cases, this is a really good wine given the quantity. Imported by Dana Importers, Inc.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Earth and leather control the nose along with some barnyard. All in all, it’s an old-school wine, one with plum fruit, dryness and plenty of acidity. In the long run it’s not that exciting.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Quite aggressive and murky at first, with a gassy, heavy bouquet of leather, earth and cooked plums. A lot of dryness comes out on the palate, courtesy of starchy tannins and medium-weight red fruit. Finishes with grip, size and a heavy hand. For best results, give it as much time as you can.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Riper and deeper than some in this class, but arguably overoaked and roasted, such that the finish tastes like burnt coffee and the bouquet smells of peeled tire rubber. In between look for plum, blackberry, cumin and black pepper.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Gaseous and murky, although time reveals cleaner plum and berry aromas and flavors. Nothing special; just a modest, mildly woody wine with some sulfur and saline holding it back. Finishes on the bitter side.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Generic smelling, with simple melon and citrus aromas. The palate has the right level of tang and acidity, which uplifts apple, nectarine and gooseberry flavors. Tight on the finish, with lock-down acids. Very zesty stuff; a mix of Sauvignon Blanc and Verdejo.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Clean and pure on the nose, with popping apple and green melon aromas. The palate has a linear, crystal-clean feel along with fresh flavors of lime, lettuce and gooseberry. Super crisp, snappy and polished; a live-wire, citrusy specimen perfect for summer sipping.
