Here’s a bright Nero d’Avola made in a subtle but traditional style with aromas of almond paste, cherry liqueur and light tea leaf. The wine’s density is medium and lean but fresh crispness appears on the close: Drink it with roast chicken or pork.

Quercus, a pure expression of Nero d’Avola, is a curious wine with quirky appeal. Its aromas are ripe and sweet and focused on mature currant or blackberry preserves. The mouthfeel is chewy, velvety and succulent and the wine will appeal to those who enjoy hot climate reds.

This is a ripe, slightly jammy blend of Nero d’Avola and Merlot with tones of cooked spice and blackberry pie. There are also some green leafy notes in the back backed by dense black tea that come as a surprise. You’ll feel some grit on the palate and more fruit flavors on the close.

Very youthful and fruit forward with an emphasis on blueberries and violets. The finish is nice, not incredibly lengthy, but determined and linear. A nicely packaged Sicilian red with finesse and power. Imported by Laird & Company.

A round, soft and easy white with stone fruit aromatics and crisp mineral tones that add dimension to the nose. This is an easy-to-drink wine and a classic pairing partner to non-fussy dishes like grilled chicken breast or roasted vegetables.

There’s a delicate, mineral-like note to this Cabernet Sauvignon that gives the wine a neat, compact feel in the mouth. Aromas are well measured and elegant and you’ll see that the wine is much more expressive on the finish where it exhibits bursting berry flavors.
