Not especially complex, but so sweet in honey and so pure in orange essence flavors that it’s just plain likeable. Considerable acidity provides the perfect balance to all that richness.

Very sweet in black cherry and chocolate flavors, basically a Port-style wine, yet too soft, with a melted candybar feeling. Would benefit from greater acidic structure, but it sure is delicious.

Yes, there are orange aromas befitting the grape from which it’s made, but there’s also a bitter chemical note reminiscent of orange peel on the nose. Full and quite alcoholic (15%), it finishes slightly hot. Needs more orange and less pith/peel elements.

Made from traditional Portuguese varieties, this is one of the best California Port-style wines out there, which is no surprise coming as it does from sweet wine specialist Quady. It’s tremendously rich and sweet in chocolate truffle and blackberry-infused flavors, with near-perfect acidity and tannins for balance. A great success at a good price for a full, not a half, bottle.

Very sweet, this dessert wine has potent flavors of tangerines, apricots, honey, butterscotch and vanilla. Crisp acidity provides clean balance. Delicious and heady.

Dark red in color and crisp in citrusy acidity, this dessert wine has very sweet flavors of black cherry marmalade, Dr. Pepper cola, milk chocolate, tangerine and savory spices. You can drink it at room temperature or with a chill.

. Is the fizziness supposed to be there, or is it a mistake? Either way, it’s a low alcohol (only 4.5%), rather sweet but not super-sweet wine, with pleasant orange and vanilla honey flavors, like a fizzy soda.

With a brisk fizziness, this dessert Muscat is fairly sweet, with orange, vanilla and butterscotch flavors. It would benefit from being sweeter and more intense.

On sweetness alone, this dessert wine earns a good score. The orange fruit flavors, which are so pure and pinpointed, are exorbitantly rich in wild honey and vanilla cream. The alcohol level is high, but there’s a beautiful streak of vibrant acidity that provides balance. Easy to drink over repeated glasses.

A beautiful dessert wine that should influence consumers to rediscover the category. Almost as dark as a red wine, it’s soft in texture and extraordinarily sweet, with intense essence of tangerine and raspberry flavors. Hard to exaggerate the deliciousness factor. Good value in a full 750-milliliter bottle.
