A floral, fruity and intensely perfumed wine, yeasty, with mature acidity and almond flavors underlining the green lime element. It is very dry, needing the extra year since harvest to round it out and give it richness as well as freshness.

This is a rarity —wood-aged Vinho Verde. It works beautifully, the floral flavors of the Loureiro grape balanced with a smooth texture. The green fruit flavors dominate, just broadened by the wood.

This top estate in the Ponte de Lima area produces beautiful, hand-crafted wines. This 100% Loureiro is almost Riesling-like in its perfumes, while its green fruit shows hints of an almond character, as well as piercingly clean ripeness and acidity. Imported by European Cellars.

Wood and Vinho Verde don’t mix, say the pundits. They can, if the wood is handled as sensitively as it is here. The toast is there, but its job is to enhance and enlarge the dense, intense green fruit flavors. A fine white wine that’s creamy and delicious. Imported by European Cellars.

The Loureiro is the grape of the Lima Valley subregion in Vinho Verde. The texture of the wine is rounded and creamy, although the crisp green fruits give a great bright lift to this delicious, fresh wine.

Made from the aromatic, floral Loureiro grape, this is a fresh, crisp, lemon- and peach-flavored wine, with a fine structure of green plum skins. It is delicious wine now, all vibrant fruit, but it could age for 2–3 years.
