Initially lean, but that’s partly due to its youth. There is also fine, juicy fruit, pierced through with acidity, but offering tense tannins and some dark plum aftertaste.

Soft, warm, spicy aromas give this wine immediate attraction. Produced from one of the original Douro top table wine quintas, this 2002 shows the lighter side of the vintage, but still manages to have great flavors of sweet fruits and dry tannins. Drink over 5 years.

From the local Minho grape Avesso, this is a full-bodied white, with some crisp acidity. Flavors of green plums, white currants and a touch of grassiness make this a great wine to drink with white fish.

A powerful white wine, with green fruits, some tannins and flavors of quince. It has fresh fruit, rather than ripe, and looks set for some bottle aging (2–3 years) before it’s drinkable.
