Every other inhale, you’ll smell either leather or sweet fruit. On the palate, taut plum and rhubarb flavors dominate. A closed, somewhat disjointed wine, but it has an interesting rocky texture and some complexity.

Dark and earthy, with modest plum fruit framed by ample vanilla. The wood tannins come on strong on the tart finish, but don’t hold onto it expecting positive evolution; pair it with foods that will work with the astringency, like rare steak or burgers off the grill.

Displays ssome pretty aromas and flavors of white pepper, mint and mixed cherries and berries, but the tannins are firm and drying, the mouthfeel hard and ungenerous.
