An interesting wine, it appears to be quite advanced, both in terms of color and in its nose, with deep, slightly dense, sweet aromas, heavily laced with butterscotch, forward acidity, and an underlying earthiness that is more reminiscent of a red wine; rich, deep and intense in the mouth, the wine opens with thick sweet flavors of butterscotch and caramel, toasted oak, and what could pass for oxidation were the flavors not as focused as they are; complex and interesting, this is a different wine with a very long and chewy finish; hard to score this wine. Wonderful sweet fruit aromas open this wine, then more complex with hints of minerals and lemon zest, touch of earth, quite forward and open; the same in the mouth, the wine is soft and sweet on first taste, then more of the traditional Ramonet acidity emerges to toughen the texture and to give more body to the wine; quite perfumed and floral but with good balance and nice richness in the finish. Lemony and tight nose, peppery and quite refined, but also a bit austere and remote, some hint of green spices; big and round in the front of the mouth, but at the same time steely and dry, quite hard; a different style certainly, but there is a lot of good focused lemon and citrus fruit flavor at the finish that has quite a bite; perhaps not as deep and opulent as many might like, but has a lot of class. Sweet aromatics define the nose with a strong shot of vanilla and hints of honey at the beginning, then more complexity with aromas of cabbage, minerals, and a touch of smoke; young and crisp in the mouth; as expected, there is a double shot of sharp lemony acidity, but the wine remains balanced and focused, if a little oaky in the mouth; smooth and round with a brittle edge, but not a bad quaff. Big, powerful nose, loaded with lemon fruit, smoke, minerals, touch of honey, green herbs; smooth, ripe and silky in the mouth, rich flavors of sweet lemons with a touch of cookie dough and banana flavors; that Ramonet “bite” emerges in the mid-mouth as the acidity in this wine kicks in; long, elegant finish, smooth as silk. Intense nose, sweet but at the same time loaded with lemony and smoky aromas, cookie dough, touch of cabbage, herbs; rich and smooth in the front of the mouth, this wine obviously has a lot of glycerin; mouth-coating; but this is Ramonet so the powerful lemony acidity begins to emerge almost immediately and borders on searing; it stays within its borders though, and while it is spicy and aggressive, the wine does not lose its balance; nice spicy finish, lots of lemons and slate, a touch of bitterness in the acidity mars this wine at the very finish, but overall rich and deep with lemon extracts at the end. Light and sweet nose, honeyed fruit, lemon juice, lemon peel aromas, fresh; sweet fruit and minerals, light lemon fruit flavors, fresh acidity; still somewhat undeveloped, but good balance and poise in this wine; would love to try it later after it gains some more bottle age. (16.5/20)

Very nicely spiced nose laced with elegant sweet aromas, intense nose, exotic; sweet and lemony in the mouth with layers of flavor; this is a powerful wine with intense flavors and a solid grip on the palate that keeps your attention; there is a softening touch of honey in the wine that gives it a nice appeal; this is drinkable now, and although there is a bit of bitterness in the wine at the end, it exudes class. Sweet and buttery nose with lots of lemon and lemon peel aromas, minerally and rich with barnyardy aromas; soft, rich and sweet in the mouth, lots of fresh lemon juice flavors but balanced with lacy sweet fruit mixed in throughout; silky and smooth and quite seductive; long finish, beautiful wine. Big nose on this wine laced with “cookie dough” aromas, sweet spices, lemons; big lemony flavors in the wine; powerful and focused but also a bit tough and bitter; this is a big forthright wine that makes a statement, but it is not particularly refined or elegant; can’t fault the winemaking on this though as there is lots of flavor at the end with a spicy lemony mix of flavors that is all Ramonet.
