Deep sweet aromas of black plums and raisins, aged now but still lush and ripe, plenty of old-vine aromas mixed with dried earth and elements of leaves and dried flowers; sweet perfume fruit in the mouth, lots of black plum and blackberry flavors; showing age now with elements of earth and dried herbs, but still intact, ripe flavors at the end begin to fade to dry tannins, but an elegant example of the great old clarets now disappearing in the face of ripe fruit-forward wines.

The nose on this wine is very rich and ripe with plenty of mature ripe fruit and a touch of butter, plenty of black fruits, although I detect a touch of volatile acidity, the aromas remain fresh and quite perfumed; a complex of fresh ripe fruit and wood define this wine in the mouth; a nice mix of red and black fruits, but tending toward the more citric and dry red fruits; good finish, if not complex or particularly deep.
