No mistaking this wine, with it's jammy, briary, peppery aromas and jammy wild berry fruit flavors. The sharply dry finish is also classic Sonoma Zin. There's a rough, tart quality to it that begs for olive oil, goat cheese, bbq, anything rich enough to cut through the tannins.

Made not just from Zinfandel, but Carignane and Petite Sirah, this old-style field blend shows wildly attractive berry, dried fruit, cocoa and spice flavors that are wrapped into firm tannins. The alcohol level is very high, and the wine is dry.

I’ve never had a less than satisfying Belloni Zin from Ravenswood, but this is certainly the ripest in memory. It’s almost a dessert, with melted milk chocolate, cassis, blueberry, red cherry and peppery spice flavors. Yet it remains dry, with the fine acid-tannin balance the vineyard is noted for.

Pretty good varietal character, if a bit rough and ready. It has a berry, woody, green aromas and drinks very dry, with soft acids and furry tannins, and a dry, austere finish. This wine will soften up rich, oily foods.

Riper and plusher than you might think at this price, with blackberry flavors that are well oaked. This is a fairly tannic wine, and it leaves the palate with a scour of astringency, but the fruity concentration makes it a value.

A jammy, highly extracted style, with bright berry fruit. Very tannic; it coats the palate with dusty, almost anesthetizing tannins, but seems to have the stuffing to age.

Plush plum, black cherry, raspberry, toast, spice and herb flavors are nicely held together in this full-bodied wine. It’s richly textured, with good integration of flavors. The finish is toasty and long.

A little soft and lacking in structure, but otherwise a beautiful Zinfandel, filled with alluring flavors, and entirely dry. Offers waves of ripe blackberry and cherry tart, licorice, cola, currant and Asian spices that finish long and fruity.

One of the best Chards out there in its price range. It has a rich, creamy texture, and flavors of juicy, crisp apples, tangerines and pineapples. The oak is well integrated, adding spice and smoky vanilla. Buy this beauty by the case.
