Modest blackberry aromas start things off, with a funky, cheesy undercurrent. Fruity in the mouth and dry, with little noticeable oak. This rough, earthy wine will do in a pinch.

Golden color. The petrol-like aroma also features vanilla oak and a hint of butterscotch. Not terribly sweet, a bit of a "tweener"--not sweet enough to really be a dessert wine but too sweet to accompany dinner.

Atypical for a California Viognier, with citrus and honey flavors. You might mistake it for a Sauvignon Blanc, but it’s nonetheless tasty and refreshing. Polished, rich and balanced. Serve it well chilled with a mango salsa.

Dark and strong stuff here. Smells earthy and plummy, with a cut of green stalkiness and mint; turns heavy and dense in the mouth. Finishes Port-like, with heat and sweetness.

Funky and earthy aromas float over fruity-berry ones. Thick and syrupy, with intensely extracted red rasberry and black cherry flavors. Dry and heavy-handed. A blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah.

Fruity aromas are distant but clean. Orange, lemon and lime define the tart palate, and it's got a touch of powdered orange drink in there, too. High acidity drives this snappy, tart package.

Heavily oaked, with smoky, toasty aromas dominating the nose. Green apples, citrus fruits, and herbs complete the package. Finishes with lemony acidity and toast.

The deep gold color here suggests age, as do the soft, vaguely oxidized flavors. Still, it shows some nice vanilla and baked apple notes, as well as slight chalk accents, on its toasty oak frame. Drink now.

The vintage is not a misprint. This wine has been released at the age of 8, but it still tastes young, fresh and sweet. The flavors are of jam-sugary blackberries, cherries and currants.
