A peppy, red-all-over wine, with not a dark note to be found. Sweet raspberry and red plum aromas preface cherry, red plum, and pencil eraser flavors. Straightforward, with a slight metallic edge on the finish.

Burly wood, black pepper and steak waft from the nose. Oak on the palate gives the otherwise pretty simple wine some texture; jammy black fruit lingers underneath.

As the ’70s song went, “if you like piña coladas,” this wine is for you. Has nice jasmine-talc perfume and a cream-and-tropical fruit flavor profile. A good introduction to Chardonnay.

This brand’s Warburn and Lombard Station lines yield some good, and well-priced, selections. I like this white’s minerally, powdery mouthfeel and flavors, and subtle yellow fruit. There’s some cream here, which gives the wine some roundness in the mouth, plus nice vanilla and toffee aromas. It’s pretty, talc-like and feminine.

This is a pretty straightforward Shiraz, with simple, sweet berries and plums on the nose, and bright cherry and raspberry fruit on the palate.

The mixed plum fruit is unremarkable but fine. In terms of texture, there’s not much, until some powdery-woody tannins pop up on the back end.

Ink and offputting petroleum aromas dominate on the nose. Thin and dilute in the mouth, what fruit is here is probably black plum.
