Hard to believe this is an entirely stainless steel-made wine, because it’s so rich. Brims with bone-dry lemon, lime, grapefruit, green apple and passionfruit flavors, with a creamy, vanilla finish. What a great restaurant wine.

A sweet wine, with pleasant apricot and vanilla cream flavors, and perhaps its best quality is the acidity, which makes it so clean.

Red fruit in the nose is accented by a little tomato, some juniper and blueberry, and a fair amount of barrel char. Features a mouth of leaner black cherry and tart plum. Finishes dry, and with mouth-coating tannins. Now it’s harmonious, but it could use some time to soften up.

Delicious and refreshing, a dessert wine to have at the end of a great meal to revive the tastebuds. Zesty acidity frames mouthwateringly ripe tangerine, apricot honey, nectarine, vanilla and spice flavors.

Has very distinctive and powerful black-cherry fruit in the nose. Tastes very pure. This single-vineyard Merlot from Calistoga has real personality and style. A charming wine, with enough tannins to warrant short-term aging.

Green and vegetal as Monterey reds are wont to be. Just too much beet and barnyard character vying for attention with the plump, juicy fruit. Heavy and oaky on the finish, which ends nicely enough with dark coffee and black pepper. Overall too strange and heavy (14% alcohol) to highly recommend.

A crisp, ripe wine, rich in spearmint, lemon and lime, fig, melon and white peach flavors, with a refreshing streak of grassy tang. Nice for an apéritif on a warm summer day.

This wine’s tart black fruit core wears smoky, ashy accents. But most of all it sports a tart, heavy green-pea mantle. The mouthfeel is smooth and easy, the finish long, sweet and sour and slightly metallic. But the pervasive vegetal-herbal cloak keeps the fruit at bay.

Decant this for a little while to let this air out and balance. Then you’ll find a flavorful, dry wine, with polished pink grapefruit, fig, vanilla and spice flavors and a crisp bite of citrusy acidity.

Fulfills Sauvignon Blanc’s two basic duties: dryness and crispness. That’s good, but even better are the complex flavors of spearmint, fig, honeydew melon and vanilla. Irresistible.
