A rich wine, flamboyant and generous, but there’s too much oak. It reeks of butterscotch, caramel, crème brûlée and vanilla flavors. Underneath all that is fine good pineapple and pear fruit.

A delicious, easy wine to drink now. It’s soft and fruity, with lots of candied raspberries, blackberries, anise, cocoa and spices. The wine is a tribute to the Braceros, Mexicans who were invited to California to work the fields during World War II.

Made in the modern cult style, this Cabernet is softly luscious, oaky and enormously rich. It shows ripe, almost sweet flavors of blackberries, raspberries and cassis, and ends with a spicy finish. A big, powerfully luscious wine that could pick up bottle complexities over the next few years.

A mild-mannered Sauvignon Blanc, with a hint of candied lemon peel at its core. Acidity seems a bit low for this variety, while the simple flavors come up short.

Quite cherry-like in the nose. On the palate, it’s smooth and fairly silky, packing more bright cherry flavors, tinged with vanilla and spice. A bit peppery on the finish. Not complex, but quite pleasant.
