Starts with bold aromas and flavors of cola, caramel and roasted fruit. Creamy-smooth tannins combined with low acidity give this wine a lush mouthfeel, but it’s less vibrant and spicy than the still-delicious and gracefully aging 2002. Drink now–2010. Imported by Smart Imports Inc.

Built a little more sturdily than some NZ Pinots, Rockburn’s 2007 shows fine intensity and purity of black cherry flavors, allied to hints of mushroom, earth and cola. It’s full-bodied, with a long, supple finish. Drink now–2015.

A big, extracted Pinot with lots of dusty earth and dried spice components. Cola, coffee and plum flavors round it out, wrapped in firm tannins. Give it a few years to mellow.

Weighty and slightly oily in the mouth, this is a big, broad-shouldered Riesling that’s completely dry. Apple and spice flavors lack the sweetness you might expect, underlined by lemony notes that impart focus to the wine’s finish.

This is a lean, pungent style of Sauvignon Blanc that will have its fans and its detractors. Slightly sweaty, passion-fruit scents give way to aggressive, head-turning acidity and tang on the palate, ending with almost ammonia-like intensity. Drink now.

Made in an off-dry style, this Riesling rips across the palate in waves of green apple and lime, accented by hints of petrol. At 11.6% alcohol, it’s light in body, yet seems nearly dry on the finish, showing great energy and vibrancy. Delicious now, although it should easily age five years or more.

This ample-bodied wine boasts appealing buttered apple and citrus flavors to go with subtle touches of cinnamon and clove. Despite being unoaked, it shows plenty of weight and a fair amount of complexity; the only drawback is a touch of warmth on the finish.
