A lovely, blush-colored bubbly, with strong aromas and flavors and a full, rich body. Citrus, rose petal, strawberry, vanilla, yeast and toast flavors mingle in a crisp, dry wine that has a very long, fruity finish.

Among the top sparklers in California, the wine this year is even more smooth and polished. It’s positively French in its classic structure and elegance. Feels ultra-refined in the mouth, with subtle flavors of dough, smoke and fruit.

Toasty and creamy, with just a touch of earthy mustiness on the nose; this is like a star just starting to do an elegant fade. There’s tangy fruit with a touch of oxidized maturity, a full texture, but a very faint bead. Good elements abound here and the wine still displays class, but it seems like it might have been brighter before

Pale for a rosé, with a slight pink color. It’s an enormously fragrant wine, brimming with peach, strawberry, smoke and vanilla notes. Lively and fresh in the mouth, with a creamy feel and the merest suggestion of strawberries. Finishes dry and elegant.

An elegant, pale-golden color leads to subtle but refined aromas of bread dough and lime, and a tantalizing hint of—what? Mint? Raspberry? White chocoloate? The same flavors commingle in the mouth. It’s very dry and acidic now. A year or so might soften it.

This half-and-half blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay is often referred to as California’s best. This year, it’s very dry, with nuanced flavors of citrus, peach and yeast. But it feels a little rough on the palate. This youthful scour should soften in a few years.

You’d almost think you were drinking fine Champagne when you sip this intricate bubbly, which, after all, is owned by a French Champagne house. It’s dry and yeasty, with suble citrus flavors and an aftertaste of almond skin. Feels fine and elegant on the palate.

Very nice. Full-bodied, with flavors of strawberries and yeast; also high in acids. It’s a bouncy, jagged wine, cleansing and stimulating the palate, with a dry, tingly finish.

Dry and elegant, in the Roederer style, with crisp acidity brightening lime, pink grapefruit and brioche flavors that have richer notes of strawberries and honey. The bubbles are a little rough, but it sure is a nice bubbly to drink now.

A beautiful rosé bubbly, from the copper-salmon color to the final finish. Made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, it’s dry and refined, with complex orange, raspberry, vanilla cream, mineral and brioche flavors. Gains extra points for the smoothness of its bubbles.
