Hands down, my favorate Chardonnay. Given the $30+ price, it's now a special occasion wine.

Rich and concentrated, this is the type of cab you'd expect from Romabuer. Layers of ripe plums, black cherries and blueberries on the nose follow through to the palate, which is balanced with light vanilla oak from 22 months of barrel aging (60% new French oak). Fun and fruit-forward, this cab is ready to drink now, but has enough tuffing to last for many years to come.

Sweet, honeyed nose filled with spices and lemon peel aromas; sweet, spicy honeyed lemon flavors, very rich and round in the best California tradition, but not over-oaked; nice balance, a bit four-square and not showing much subtlety, but certainly a good wine. (16.5/20)
