This joint venture between the Roquette family of Quinta do Crasto and the Cazes family of Château Lynch-Bages in Bordeaux, is a stunning evocation of the schist soils of the Douro. It is uncompromising, with firm, dark tannins. In a classic Bordeaux way, it is still young, the structure dominant and impressive.

The second wine produced by the Roquette family of Quinta do Crasto and the Cazes of Château Lynch-Bages. It is rich, hugely spiced, with violet aromas and black currant fruits, a leathery edge to the texture. The alcohol leaves a slight burn, which blows off.

The joint venture between the Cazes family of Bordeaux and the Roquette family of Quinta do Crasto in the Douro is in its second released vintage. This is made using Bordeaux techniques, resulting in a style that is more structured than many Douro wines, exploiting ripe fruit with solid tannins, leavened by sweetness and sweet red fruits. The wood shows through on the finish.
