Light cream and vanilla aromas; the wine has light citrus flavors with modest stone fruit, floral and sawdust accents. Linear on the palate, and finishes with a touch of oak. Imported by Foster’s Wine Estates Americas.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Bright fruit, zesty acidity, and soft but adequate tannins mark this enjoyable wine. The aromas and flavors are jammy and young, suggesting heaps of newly picked blackberries. It’s dry, and finishes a bit rough and strong. Might even improve with a year or two of age.

Rosemount Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot - 2000

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Powerful and clean, this Chard opens with pronounced aromas of citrus and peaches, underscored by honey, smoke and butter. The wine is tight and complex, seemingly wrapped in a minerally, iron straightjacket now, but with good aging possibilities; the long finish also supports this hypothesis. High acidity boosts the impression of strength and cleanliness. Editors’ Choice.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Smoke and wood set off approachable yellow fruit on the palate, both of which follow through to the finish. Smoke, biscuit and white pepper aromas don’t make it to the palate, but were nice while they lasted.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A straight-shooting, tasty white, with wide yellow fruit (citrus, plus some tropical fruit) flavors that extend to the back end. It smells as it tastes—it’s not complicated, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not good.

Has the claylike texture that shows the best of Coonawarra. Fruit is black and sturdy, tannins are chalky and smooth. Mocha and clay linger on the finish. An excellent Cabernet with nice texture and judicious oak.

Rosemount Cabernet Sauvignon - 2000

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Darkly colored and flavored, this Merlot shows lots of toasty oak wrapped around a core of berry and black plum flavors. The mouthfeel is even and smooth, but the spicy finish turns a bit woody, picking up a dry, tart edge as the oak takes over. Tastes rather like a Cabernet, with its dark hue and flavor range.
