Big in flavor, high in alcohol, this is an only-in-California Zin. The ripe flavors are explosive, delighting the mouth with cassis, cherry, milk chocolate and vanilla fudge flavors, but as sweet as this sounds, the wine is totally dry. Lip-smackingly good.

Big, rich, bold and extracted, a thrilling Zin from Contra Costa County. It’s gigantic in blackberry, blueberry, cherry and spice flavors, with a delicious edge of sweet herbs and white pepper. There are substantial tannins but they’re sweet.

Bigtime, ripe Zin, with flavors of berries and cherries that are wrapped in sturdy but ripe, sweet tannins, and are fully dry. Somehow this Zin keeps its alcohol level moderate, and despite the size, is elegant and balanced.

This is a great price for such a delicious and balanced red wine. It’s classic warm-coastal, with lush wild blackberry, blueberry, pepper and sage flavors and sweet, rich tannins. Completely dry and moderate in alcohol, it’s a lovely Zin.

As tasty as this wine is, and it’s surely delicious in cassis and chocolate flavors, it’s simply too hot. With 16.6% alcohol, it has a hot, red pepper mouth feel. That was the price of dryness under the hot sun.

Made solidly in the Rosenblum style, namely high alcohol and superripe, but in this case Kent Rosenblum was able to ferment the wine to full dryness, instead of the residual sugar you find in many of his wines. This is a big, dark, rich, tannic Syrah, earthy and cherried. It will last a long time, but is best now.

This flagship Rosenblum wine does not disappoint, with its expressive blackcurrant and cassis aromas and flavors. The overlay of toasted oak adds a sweet vanilla edge. Softly textured, with a bright spine of acidity that keeps it fresh.

With 17% alcohol, this Zin still has residual sugar. They must have picked the grapes insanely ripe. It’s not a table wine, it’s more like Port, but it’s not without its pleasures.

An exotic Viognier, packed with wild flavors, everything from mangoes and papayas through bananas to honeysuckle and ripe white peach. Finishes with a honeyed sweetness, yet it’s basically dry.

Big, luscious aromas of dark chocolate, blackberry, pepper, earth and smoke erupt from the glass. The flavors are extracted and bold, suggesting masses of wild berries. It's a big hot, with 14.6% alcohol, while aficionados will debate the Port-like notes and raisiny sweetness.
