Strong, perfumed nose, black and red cherry aromas, sweet and seductive with a succulent and hedonistic nature, green olives and earth; sweet and rich in the mouth with black cherry flavors; big, dry tannins in the body of this wine, balanced and powerful, with an almost Bordeaux-like mix of tar and licorice, lots of spices at the end of the wine, big and impressive with complex flavors and lots of grip. A very sweet and ripe nose, slightly medicinal with hints of iodine, but also laced with lots of ripe fruit aromas that show depth and power; sweet and ripe in the mouth, lots of black cherry flavors; quite concentrated and powerful with nuances of woods and smoke in the flavors; long, rich ripe finish, very classic. Deep rich aromas, black cherries, lots of herbs and spices in the nose, leather and smoke, layered and sophisticated; sweet and soft in the mouth, now definitely fully mature and perhaps turning the corner on the down side a bit; but still a good wine; soft textures and mature fruit flavors; a bit light and drying out at the edges now but enjoyable; shows the winemaker’s skills. Wonderful sweet aromas of perfumed fruit, floral, earthen, with wood chips and smoke; sweet and smooth in the mouth with the smoothness and silkiness that these wines exhibit in the hands of the best winemakers; a nice balanced mix of earth and fruit, with soft acidity and nice touch of truffles and earth; good solid finish; not the most profound of these wines, but a good one. Ripe and rich nose with great aromatics of black cherries, earth, sweet flowers, and herbal notes; ripe and jammy in the mouth with soft fruit flavors; this wine has a light touch and very much in the feminine style; layers of fruit, smoke and wood layered with ripe black cherries; long finish, nicely balanced tannins. Sweet and spicy nose, very perfumed, aromas of chocolate, slightly medicinal and with a touch of vinyl but a wonderful nose in the main, despite the interesting secondary aromas; black cherry and blackberry flavors, spicy and peppery, nicely balanced; elegant flavors; a long finish; a polished wine with great poise, even though many deny this vintage. Fabulous nose, loaded with deep aromas of black cherries and ripe fruit, very focused and deep, complex aromas but oh so inviting, almost mystical, spices and earth round out a most exciting nose; wonderful balance and poise right from the first taste; this is a complete burgundy that presents ripe fruit, layers of flavors offering up a mix of truffle, dark cherry juice, spice and smoke flavors; long, elegant complex finish; this is a feminine wine but with astounding grip and focus. (20/20)

Alas the end of a case, but the last bottle continued an unbroken chain of great wine; soft and rich nose with enticing earthy, truffle-laden aromas that also show wood, smoke, perfumed floral scents, and green herbs; sweet and ripe in the mouth, and a defining wine for people who like to characterize Burgundy as feminine; yet there is intensity and depth in this wine that grows in the glass as the wine is open for a time; the finish is deep and powerful with layers of pure fruit and rich textures, that remain fresh and focused to the end. (19.5/20)
