Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Sweet citrus-flavored wine, with a good intensity of flavor from the ripe Malvasia grapes. There’s a delicious perfumed character, pineapple and tangerine. The acidity is a fine part of this rich wine.

This looks and tastes young for its age, sweet and caramel in flavor, the wood element missing. It’s almost syrupy in its texture, a full-bodied style, with fresh black fruits still there.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Soft, superripe wine, with layers of sweet black figs and chocolate. This is almost like a Porty Zinfandel in its richness. There are tannins there, but they seem lost in this riot of sweet fruit.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
With its toffee aromas, this is a wine that is already accessible. The fruit is sweet, very soft, ripe, the texture and tannins light and easy. Not for aging.

If it wasn’t for the unbalanced spirity element to this wine, it would rate higher. The concentration and the dried fruit and lemon jelly flavors are attractive. But that spirit comes through at the finish.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This tawny comes out of the gate full-bore, with robust aromas of cola, earth and roasted fruit. It’s forward and fruity, with pleasant smoke and caramel accents, but also marked by a slightly vegetal note.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Very dense in the nose, with nuances of rubber and ripe black plum. The palate thrusts with cherry, raspberry and raisin. Now, it’s all fruit, showing only a smidgen of chocolate and a hint of espresso. But with time—8 to 10 years—it will reveal the full allotment of refinement and class.

Great depth of flavor with fruit and a layer of mature almond nuttiness. The wine shows some wood, but also dried figs, prunes and some mature acidity. Not quite dry, but edging in that direction.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
All the basic berries and cream on the nose. Plush and rich, this is easy-drinking Port. Black plums and a big-time sweet core. Close to syrupy, but retains its balance. Smooth, well rounded, fruity and good. A nice dessert Port.

Simple and straightforward, with a clean, creamy body. The aromas and flavors of cinnamon, walnuts and burnt caramel conjure up memories of crème brûlée. Solid, as is the house style, if basic.
