Opening nose on this wine is really sweet and ripe, almost jammy, at the same time very earthen and woody, perfumed and aromatic; earthen and sweet in the mouth with layers of flavor; the mid-mouth though begins to show too much tannin, which pushes into the finish; noticeably dry and earthen at the end, with a definite loss of fruit having taken place.
