Three-plus years in the bottle have been kind to this Chardonnay. It’s mellowed, and the primary fruit pineapple, pear and tropical fruit flavors are beginning to develop bottle complexities, giving the wine a spicy, nutty, minerally complexity. Beautiful now–2011.

Shows good varietal character in the citrus and apple aromas and flavors, framed by clean, refreshing acidity. The mouth-cleaning quality follows through the lemon-flavored, tart finish.

Tastes amazingly young and fresh at more than six years, hardly showing its age. Bursts with vibrant blackberry and cherry flavors, crisped with acidity and wrapped into finely spun tannins. A lovely, dry wine to drink now, but one that might develop interesting bottle complexities.

Aromas of brambly, wild berries, peppery spices, tar and smoke erupt from the glass, leading to a well-ripened wine with pretty flavors of blackberries and black raspberries. One minor quibble is its softness. It lacks backbone. Another is 15.6% alcohol, which makes it finish hot and heady.

This is loaded with oak and lees, but the fruit is lemony, herbal and minerally, and doesn't quite sing under such treatment.

Ripe and fruity in pineapples, with buttered popcorn, vanilla custard and smoky spice flavors. A bit direct and unintegrated now, but this is a Chardonnay that will gain considerably with a year or three in the bottle.

Blackberry, cassis, and oak aromas are accompanied by an unusual caramelized note suggesting marzipan. In the mouth, it's extremely soft, almost flabby, with light fruit. Doesn't seem like it's going anywhere.

Lots of delicious raspberry and cherry flavors in this spicy wine, but it’s just too sweet. That’s probably a combination of residual sugar and extraordinarily high alcohol of 16.5%, which makes it almost Port-like.

Light and rustic, with a tart edge, this wine has flavors of semi-ripened berries and a thin, watery finish. The middle palate is very acidic, almost sour. There are no technical faults, but it doesn't offer much pleasure.

Rich and textured, this wine brims with peach, tropical fruit and smoky oak aromas, and drinks fruity and crisp. In fact, the acidity gives it a burn in the middle palate and finish, pushed along by leesy notes. This structured wine demands food.
