Inky-dark, it stains the glass; this is a big wine. It’s tannic now, and comes across as earthy and austere, but astute tasters will detect an intense core of fruit that needs time to express itself.

Starts off with bell pepper, smoke, spice and earth on the nose. The follow-up features black chery, plum, coffee, cola and toast flavors. Tannins are fairly soft, while the finish si bright, with an herbal twist.

Reminds me of the young Picasso, before he developed his style. But what promise! Obviously great grapes, yielding intense fruit. Super balance between acids and tannins. This is a single-vineyard wine that will be dependent on the vintage. With some tweaking, in a great year this will be a great wine, one to follow.
