Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
A very nice wine, kind of a mongrel with its array of varietals, but rich and satisfying. Braced with crisp acidity, it offers flavors of tangerines, peaches, Meyer lemons, limes, green apples and honey, with a pleasant minerality. The blend is Viognier, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris.

A multi-varietal blend, based on Viognier and Riesling. It’s dryish to off-dry, and acidic, with savory flavors of oranges, limes and honeysuckle.

Very soft and melted, with hot flavors of grilled berries, cocoa and oak, leading to an astringent finish. Feels like a Port, except it’s dry.

San Antonio Bordeaux-style Red Blend - 2006

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
This Rhône-style blend smells and tastes a little hot. The official alcohol is 14.5%, yet there’s a white pepper, prickly heat to the raspberry jam and mocha flavors. Drink now.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
Soft and creamy, like a chocolate and black raspberry drink, sprinkled with pepper and cinnamon. Almost like a Port in its sweetness.

Expert NoteJanuary 12, 2012
You can call this blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mourvèdre and Grenache a Rhône blend, but it’s like nothing that ever came from France. Distinctly Californian in softness and ripeness, it has jammy, slightly sweet flavors of cherries, blackberries and chocolate.
