Aromas of creamy coffee and chocolate-covered espresso bean slowly evolve into sweet cherry, vanilla and almond paste. This is an internationally styled wine with rich tones, deep extraction and gritty tannins.

The closed nose offers a slight paint or chemical aroma that hopefully will subside with aging. Very tight and dry on the palate, with cherry notes and strong hints of black pepper. Fairly lean and basic Brunello, with medium-level oak. Of note: Very little of this wine (about 20 cases) makes it to the U.S.

This Brunello stands out thanks to its overall harmony and simple elegance. It’s clean and tonic in the mouth but offers just enough aromatic intrigue to pair with important meat dishes. Sophisticated aromas include light smoke and plump berry fruit.
