Here’s a big, bold, lip-smacking Zin from Napa Valley. It shows ripe berry, cola, pepper, licorice and cocoa flavors, and is full-bodied and drily tannic. Great with pizza, enchiladas or Swedish meatballs.

Dry, fruity and smooth, this likeable wine has much in common with more expensive Merlots. Although it’s a bit one-dimensional, it shows black cherry, mocha and herb flavors with a good mouthfeel.

Racy and crisp, this has an earthy quality to it, like herbs that have been scattered onto ripe tangerines, pineapples and mangoes. It’s really an interesting wine, and the acidity makes it food-friendly.
