All stainless fermented, mostly Chardonnay, this makes a serious play for a place on the $12 white wine shelf. Clean, crisp, stylish and focused, it brings green apple and melon fruit up against a firm border of skin tannins––citrus rind and such. Zippy and fresh.

Primarily Syrah, this was barrel aged in 40% new French and American oak––surprising at this price. Complex and layered, with dark berries, licorice, coffee liqueur and roasted meat. Though lighter than many Washington Syrahs, at less than half the price it captures the essence of the grape, with a citrusy finish.
