I just love Seghesio wine and this is no exception. Straight out of the bottle you are greated with delicious dark cherry that is not too sweet and with time it mellows and becomes incredibly smooth. Love Love Love!

Seghesio has always been one of my favorites and this bold petite sirah does not disappoint. It gets better with every glass, earthy yet fruity, chocolate and some spice...pairs well with any George Winston CD...

Expert NoteDecember 19, 2005
This is one of the real quality zinfandels produced in California, and is made from selected batches of the oldest vines from the property, the youngest of which is at least 50 years old; powerful and concentrated, intense aromas of black plums, black cherries, blueberries, black pepper, and a hint of chocolate; sweet and powerful in the mouth, this wine really packs a punch, but is focused and elegant; the wine is a finely-tuned machine of dry tannins, citrus fruit flavors mixed with spices and earth; actually quite austere and has no hint of the California sweetness that ruins so many of these wines; long, dry tannic finish; this wine needs several more years to show its full potential. (19/20)
